Collection: Cássia Roriz

Cássia Roriz is a young Brazilian visual artist who started her journey in 2020 with an experimental creation, testing materials, and techniques, especially delving into the investigative nature of printmaking and collage. Her research focuses on the hidden and erased stories of Brazil. She investigates and creates art about black and indigenous peoples and other groups and populations of ancestral strength.

"'A Hopeful Future' was created from a place of hope, thinking about this future of equality that we are creating together. I tend to portray images of older black women, this one reminds us that we are not alone in this fight. Our ancestors walk with us, and will be with us when we reach this new and better society."
