Collection: Tabata Spinster

Tabata Spinster is a radical lesbian feminist, writer, and multidisciplinary artist of Mexican origin, deeply committed to creation from political consciousness and lesbian rebellion. Early in her career, she explored the female body, eroticism, sisterhood, and self-awareness through photography and graphic art. Her work has been published and exhibited in cities like Mexico City, Prague, Argentina and Spain.

This image of the triple goddess was invoked and created when I had the honor of illustrating the Spanish translation of Mary Daly's radical feminist classic, Gin/Ecology. Born from connecting with my Be-ing (the goddess verb coined by Daly), it is a self-portrait through which I seek to connect with the goddess within me and the goddess within all women. The triple goddess is present in the vast majority of pre-patriarchal cultures.
